Iridescent Sky by Charlie Weathersby: Review
Charlie Weathersby creates the type of music that is good for your soul. The poetic lyrics, infused with the subtlety in her voice are a wonderful combination. Charlie’s song ‘Iridescent Sky’ is an atmospheric track, that allowed me to deeply listen to and appreciate her work.
‘Iridescent Sky’ begins with a dreamy guitar riff. Its tone has a lot of echo and reverb and reminds me of psychedelic music from the 60s-80s era. Its resonance is something I truly admire. Charlie managed to sing a lullaby with her music which hypnotized me. The synth melody and minimal beat structure paved the way for a complete picture in ‘Iridescent Sky’. I believe this picture is made in a vibrant environment where the song fits perfectly. And while I might exist in that picture, I sure as heck would feel in paradise through Charlie’s music. Charlie’s music utopia is permanently stuck in the year 1989. If you hope to bring a dash of melancholy and ‘the feels’ then add “Iridescent Sky” to your favorite playlist. As mentioned before, the electric guitar is otherworldly with a drum machine reminiscent of the 1980s. “Iridescent Sky” stands out from the pack because of its evocative poetry and soulful filmic style.
I was able to transcend to her thoughts and melodies so much that I felt connected to her music. That is exactly what fans want, to feel connected, to feel lost, but equally attached. Wonderful work, truly remarkable!
