Is It All Melting? by Indoor Friends: EP Review
Indoor Friends, a Boston based band bring forth their epic rock persona in a fresh EP. Commanding this musical army are band members, Amanda Bysheim singing lead vocals, Kat Delitto with lead guitar, Krista Marie Setera specializing ukulele and singing, Ben Bonadies plays bass, and Matt Wilson plays drums. Their sensational EP “Is It All Melting?” brings out the spirit of youth, and emphasizes it with catchy pop-punk tunes.
The energizing freedom of “Don’t Come Back” will put you in a frenzy, and uncontrollably headbang in excitement. The singer really brings out that angsty punk rock angle and their sweet voice is perfect to fit the mood. Within the song’s structure, heavily distorted guitars power the melody as well as a soft interlude. One of the more emotional and acoustic tracks of the EP is quite soothing to hear. In “Quite Like You”, Indoor Friends creates a heartfelt piece where light percussions carry the tempo and pleasant rhythm sections can be heard. I especially cherished the piano portions of the track as it sounded truly delightful!
“Is It All Melting?” exits with the dark and moody arrangement of “Life Is Suffering.” The songwriting is immensely catchy and charming. On top of that, the basslines are quite funky and a joy to hear. The groove of the song is a fitting way to say goodbye to the EP. There’s an abundance of reasons why, and one of them is the epic riff solo and harmonies. Overall, Indoor Friends captivates audiences with their gritty punk rock and alternative anthems, so don’t miss out on their music!
