It’s Not Your Movie by Abz Winter: Review
Gentlemen and ladies, allow us to introduce you to Abz Winter, Undiscovered Talent UK 2021 Winner, Artist Of The Month BBC CWR Introducing, Best Female Artist 2021, and Best Pop Act 2022 candidate. This is a great moment to get into the music of this up-and-coming singer-songwriter because her new single, “It’s Not Your Movie,” has just been released.
The song provides a glimpse into Abz’s aspiration to move towards a more nostalgic and punk rock–influenced path in this period. The song’s co-writer and producer, Imad Salhi, created a catchy, throbbing spine that keeps the rush of adrenaline running all the way through. The drummer and guitarist delivered a powerful performance, setting the tone with an enthusiastic rhythmic flow and emotional vocals. Abz Winter possesses the strong, gorgeous, and distinctive features of a powerhouse voice, which readily rises over the vivid, dynamic backdrop of this song. Audiences may expect a fierce, defiant power shift as Abz makes it obvious that she wants to reclaim her story. It’s cathartic and liberating to remind all those narcissists that the world doesn’t revolve around them.
Quotable Lyrics:
“You’re not included
Do you feel bad
Now I wonder why
Ought to ask yourself
You’re 40 or something
Acting like a child”
Abz Winter is only at the beginning of her blossoming career, and the sky is truly the limit for her. We’re excited to see what she has in store for us. In the meantime, join us as we stream “It’s Not Your Movie.”
