Jocelyn & Chris release blazing new song ‘Sugar and Spice’
Rock duo Jocelyn & Chris, Harvard graduates, make a comeback with ‘Sugar and Spice’, their first record since the global health crisis hit last year. According to American Songwriter, the song is “a bluesy romp showing off their knack for classic song-craft.” A preview of their upcoming eighth studio album can be found here. On this funk-driven track about the realities of a hot-and-cold relationship, Jocelyn & Chris deliver a psychedelic 70s style in a style reminiscent of legendary guitarists Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. They also channel the powerhouse vocals of legendary female rockers like Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks.
A rocking, retro-funk anthem is accompanied by an official music video. The track’s retro influences are vividly displayed in its kaleidoscope of colors, with Jocelyn’s vocals taking center stage and Chris’s organic, riff-driven guitar providing support.
