If you are any other girl, you probably grew up with John Hughes movies and dreamt of being swept off your feet by a charming, non-toxic man. Majeska, the Nashville-based electro-pop artist, presents listeners with a wishful song, where she desires her love story to be just like a “John Hughes Movie.”

Opening with a glimmering and dreamy electronic wave that sets the tone for what’s to come – a yearning ballad beautifully encapsulates the feelings of longing and nostalgia in pink glitter and gold, with the hopeless romantic Disney-esque landscape looming over the music. Majeska’s slow-tempo delivery allows her thick, reverberating vocals to resonate deeply with the weight of emphasis hanging in her throat, almost like a whispered confession. The lyrics delve into the complexities of post-breakup emotions, where memories intertwine with present struggles.

“Screaming at my windshield, you were out of left field,” Majeska sings, immediately drawing us into the descriptive imagery of her muted frustrations and pulling us into her cinematic love story. The lyrics vividly depict driving past an old flame’s house, with the internal conflict palpable in every line.
