JOY LOVE PEACE by Boogie Lights: Review
When it comes to DJs, Mark Henrichs is in a league of his own. As Boogie Lights, he does high-octane concerts where he jumps about the stage and plays electric drums at waist level while spinning addictive dance music; he’s frequently accompanied by other musicians who add vocals or saxophone to take his sound to new heights. In his most recent release, ‘JOY LOVE PEACE’, he used a full gospel choir to recreate that feeling. And the artist is bringing the disco, as seen by his fresh new, unquestionably groovy banger that fuses nu-disco, deep house, gospel, and soul into a soaring concoction of electronic sounds that you will certainly be listening to on repeat.
Starting with upbeat vocals accompanied by high-energy kicking drums and a bassline, the song will make you dance while purifying your spirits. After six years of studying gospel music more closely, the artist started working on the song in June of last year. The performer claims he has always found delight in gospel music. He only sometimes attended religious services, maybe once every two years. He did not know why, but something about the gospel chorus made him feel all tingly inside. The artist decided to combine gospel with house music, so he began splicing together disparate elements, such as a Sister Act song, over a dance rhythm.
In any case, he was beginning to feel some kind of creative spark. The next thing he knew, he was up one morning with the will to produce the gospel-house track. And then there was this beautiful, dark bass line that, hopefully, conveyed a sense of gospel inspiration.
