Kaleidoscope by Marc Bird: Review
Marc Bird is a creative artist who is a master at composing melodies with a psychedelic aura. Particularly in his track “Kaleidoscope”, the musician fixates on a pleasant pop tune alongside layers of psychedelia and folk mixed in. It’s a colorful song that brings along the facets of a trippy guitar sequence and a poetic singer at the mic.
“Kaleidoscope” impressed me to the very core. The acoustic and electric guitar bits have a lovely cadence that caught my attention. Even more so when Marc’s enchanting voice was present in each segment, also Kate Edwards’ backing vocals fit quite nicely. Righto, onwards to the instrumental section then. Well, as mentioned earlier Marc’s tune pertains to psychedelic folk/pop mostly. It arrives at that stance through the trippy rhythm bits and vocal style. Firstly, when the guitar’s echo tone greets us, a mysterious wave of psychedelia is active. It branches off from the drone synths which is the main atmosphere of the track. Aside from that, deep basslines and acoustic chords bless the stage. Maintaining that flow are two singers whose voices are very pleasant and they add a clean texture to the melody.
Do you know what I enjoy? A good acoustic portion of a song. “Kaleidoscope” by Marc Bird had plenty of those, and it thrilled me. Whenever the acoustic guitar section came on, the plucking and strumming excited me. ‘Cause, there’s a warm sound coming from the instrument, and the track in question captured that tone beautifully.
