The music video for the theatrical rock song “King’s Hall” by Dan Szyller shows a conqueror making his way into the medieval tale of many coups following an unwelcomed king self-coronated without an audience. With witches invited to the plot, poison mixed in his alcohol, and women to drive him away from his goals, his reign falls short.
What we see in Dan Szyller’s music video is the tale that still stands today, with many kings and leaders still fighting against lies, conspiracies, and witches plotting their end with their very own weaknesses. But here’s the twist: with so many determinants available, was it them that brought your downfall or the errs within yourself that you overlooked and gave way to self-destruction?
With the standout line, “In a moment in time, a young man stood tall, the serpent’s sign, and evil was born,” Dan omnisciently highlights the evil within us that sided with the evil around us. “King’s Hall” features the war we must fight to conquer evil within ourselves and rise above. With a prog-rock sound, a medieval sound underlying, and experimental rock sounds, Dan Szyller tried to bring the entire rock spectrum into his song.
The music video has a mesmerizing cinematic effect with filmy, subdued color grading, castles, stained windows, thrones, forests, and appropriate costuming in Meltz, France. Even better is the gothic aesthetic, successfully facilitated with appropriate destinations such as the museum “de lá cour d’or” and the stronghold “Porte des Allemands.” It seems Dan Szyller chose not to leave any stone unturned and went all the way to making his music a reality.
Now’s your time to experience rock like never before with Dan Szyller’s “King’s Hall.”
