Leslie Birdwell Pursley releases upbeat country EP “Leslie Birdwell Pursley”
Leslie Birdwell Pursley is a dynamic Tennessee musician with stellar vocal pipes. She began her musical career, like others, in the church, and proceeded in the school choir and college performance groups. With her debut self-titled EP, the artist reveals a fun-loving and cheerful country personality. Involving four tracks, the EP captures Leslie’s charismatic personality and voice on record.
With track after track of lively guitar solos and riffs, traditional country fiddle sounds, and energetic background singers that do an excellent job of accentuating her charming personality and voice. The vocalist remembers how the amazing musicians, background singers, sound engineers, and producers brought her vision to life at High Ridge Studio in Tennessee.
Leslie appreciates these individuals for the enjoyable and creative experience she had while recording this EP. Themes on EP include infatuation in “You Oughta Be in Pictures,” gossip and rumors in “Something to Talk About,” and life appreciation in “Can I Get an Amen?” Then, Pursley concludes the EP with ‘The Kind of Crazy I Like,’ a fluid country rock song that has anthemic vocal pieces and bluesy guitar lines. In its essence, the EP encompasses subtle melodic pieces that are perfect to vibe out to. Such is the gospel-inspired piece “You Oughta Be in Pictures.” Blending moving violin progressions with an organ-style sequence to amp up the singer’s elegance. It’s a lively polished track, where the production was truly clean and top-notch.
