โIt may not be the most likely collaboration, but weโve known each other for a long timeโ listen to Sigridโs new duet with Bring Me The Horizon, โBad Life.โ
Last Monday (April 14), Sigrid previewed the collaboration on TikTok, uploading a behind-the-scenes footage with BMTH vocalist Oli Sykes. The video was put to an audio snippet of the upcoming track, with the couple singing the words โItโs only a bad day/ Not a bad life.โ Itโs the hardcore bandโs first collaboration with the Norwegian singer-songwriter.
โIโm really pleased about โBad Lifeโ being out in the world with the Bring Me boys!โ Sigrid commented of the song. Weโre very proud of this one, and we hope it may provide some solace.
โIt may not seem like the most likely collaboration, but weโve been fans of each other for a long time and are ecstatic to be able to work together on this song.โ Filming the video was an incredible and bizarre experience in and of itself!โ
โIt conveys the story of when things are difficult and it sometimes feel like youโre never going to stop feeling sad,โ Sigrid said of the song.
โJordan and I wrote this song in lockdown, remotely,โ Sykes continued. We liked the message, but it didnโt quite match the brief for the record weโre working on right now.โ We felt it was the right fit for Sigrid when we found out she was a fan, though I was hesitant at first because it was such a special record. Then Sigrid asked if Iโd want to duet with her on the track, and that was it!โ
The song is the most recent in BMTHโs string of collaborations. The band was featured on the Masked Wolf track โFalloutโ earlier this month, while the release ofโmaybeโ in March marked another collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly.
In other Sigrid news, the singer announced the release of her new album, โHow To Let Go,โ in March.
The second studio album, due out on May 6, is the follow-up to 2019โs โSucker Punch.โ The musician has released three songs from the album: โIt Gets Dark,โ โBurning Bridges,โ and โMirror.โ
