The Transits return with a bang in their latest single, โLive Today,โ a punchy, synth-laced pop-punk anthem that barrels forward with all the urgency of a last-minute decision that somehow feels exactly right. The New ZealandโSouth African trio once again proves theyโve nailed the formula for fast, feel-everything songwriting, channeling the raw immediacy of youth and adrenaline into two and a half minutes of sonic lift-off.
โLive Todayโ opens with thumping drums and a misty shimmer of guitars and synths creating a dreamy and propulsive backdrop. Vocalist Dom Antelme is as charismatic and cutting as ever as he sings with his voice clear but charged with emotion, climbing steadily as the verses build into an urgent chorus. By the time the hook arrives, โLive Todayโ transforms into a full sprint, as the vocals become more urgent and the drums relentless beneath it all. Itโs a headrush of a track that feels like stepping into the unknown with your heart wide open.
Visually, the accompanying music video elevates the track even further, with a dirt-track racing narrative that brings the themes of risk and resolve to gritty life. Featuring Kiwi comedian Tom Sainsbury in a wonderfully offbeat role as a racing coach-slash-hype-man, and actor Kate Simmonds as the determined driver, the clip balances heart and humor. It is totally on brand for The Transits because they always deliver.
If you havenโt already jumped on their bandwagon, โLive Todayโ is the sign youโve been waiting for. Check it out on Spotify. And keep watch on The Transits because they have a whole album coming up this year.
