Loneliest Bug by Minda Lacy: Album Review
Minda Lacy is a delightful folk artist who’ll enchant your soul. Her evocative poetry and soothing rhythms are wonderful to experience, and this is evident with the album “Loneliest Bug.” From calming acoustic chords to elegant violin sections, and so much more, Minda Lacy ensures us that her music will bring us peace no matter what.
The album opens up with the self-titled song “Loneliest Bug.” It’s a track drenched in melodic warmth and gentle cadence. Everything from the narrative to the instrumental sections brings a smile to your face. This is primarily because of the clarity of Minda Lacy’s voice. When she sings, a sense of grace is established and it heightens when the violin tags along. More bluesy and country-esque numbers such as “There’s Something Wrong With You” keep us light on our feet and ready to vibe out. The guitar’s energetic essence from fingerstyle plucking blends well with the percussion. It amounts to an intriguing blues harmony that fans of the genre will adore. Upon reaching the ambiance of “Animal,” we are greeted by a soft guitar and harmonica duet. The chemistry was exquisite and had my nerves in a doozy.
“The Morning Drinks You Too” is the most mysterious and eccentric one out of the album. It initiates with a lovely ukulele segment followed by light harmonica fillers. Eventually, the music transitions into this avant-garde style piece filled with effects and returns to the gentle lullaby of the ukulele.
