Lonesome Highway Superstar by Chris Ianuzzi: Review
Chris Ianuzzi, an electronic music composer based in New York City, has created a trippy tune titled โLonesome Highway Superstarโ. Not only do the melodies incorporate a futuristic appeal, but also the music video blends the use of cutting-edge AI in its production quality. โLonesome Highway Superstar,โ is featured on Chrisโs mind-bending album โMaze,โ which was released on April 8th. The track has a fresh coat of paint within the post-punk and synth-pop genre.
โLonesome Highway Superstarโ has a dark aesthetic about it. It involves the use of melodic synthesizers and high-energy beats to create a psychedelic experience. The singerโs poetic voice takes control with some unique textures. From punk rock singing to a more spoken word aesthetic, the track has a moving narrative about finding oneโs path through a galactic expedition. The rising synths have a nice synth-pop vibe to them, and that blends nicely with the experimental sides of the song. As I kept hearing it, the track takes a detour from the usual tropes of electronica and faces the elements of avant-garde gracefully.
Ever watched the Mad Max films, dear reader? Well, for some reason the atmospheric synthesizers of โLonesome Highway Superstarโ had this vibe that made me think about the aggressive warrior in the post-apocalyptic Australian desert. His essential arsenal was the car which kept survival intact, and his fists and weapons too. Since Chrisโs idea for the track at the beginning was about a road warrior with a damaged vehicle on a desert highway, the thought of Mad Max just clicked with me.
