Glasgow-based five-piece rock band Whitney King has unleashed their latest single, “Losing Control,” on May 31. Rooted in blues and hard rock to the forefront, the band is giving you the sort of song you should be listening to in a mosh pit, raging amongst a crowd.
“Losing Control” is an intense, gritty, grinding, and explosive rock piece. From the first note, the grinding and blazing riffs by Josh Cormack and Zak McManus drive the song forward with an unstoppable, chaotic and beautifully orchestrated force. They lead the listener through a tempest of sound. The thumping drums, courtesy of Shannon Gillies, set a momentum that feels like it’s crashing down to earth with ferocious energy and digging a hole with continuous shots.
Krzysztof Brzozowski’s gnarly, hoarse vocals are the heart and soul of the track, spitting fire with a performance that’s both intimidatingly enraged and passionately vehement. He puts such emphasis on each word that his lines become the focal point, visceral enough to be losing control.
In the bridge, Brzozowski’s voice takes on a snarling low sharpness. It all comes down to a highly writhing, churning, and bending guitar solo that feels almost possessed.
Whitney King is meant for the stage. The studio can’t handle all this uproar and it needs to be released into the air. They are coming soon to Scottish venues, hoping to seal each with their gratifying incense. With “Losing Control,” it seems they are well on their way.
Catch “Losing Control” on Spotify and experience the electrifying power of Whitney King for yourself.
