Lovescope by SIR-VERE: Album Review
Electronica act SIR-VERE makes music that’ll resonate with longtime fans of the genre. This is due to their diverse and innovative sound. Their album “Lovescope” is shaped with catchy vocal hooks and a digital timbre. Also, a wave of post-punk fills each melody and blends beautifully with the electronic layers.
The album starts with “Angel of Death” and “Peer Pressure.” Clean synths mix with smooth vocal progressions and are met with a crunchy guitar riff for that post-punk aura. After that, when the second piece drops, it drops hard. A powerful percussion activates our senses, and an epic bassline elevates that effect. “Misophonia” has a solid resemblance to early 2000s alternative rock hits, especially the singing portions. The cadence has a nostalgic essence that takes me back to the dawn of the genre and everything that came along with it. SIR-VERE accomplishes this brilliantly with their take, such as the thumping electro-bass sequence. The album’s title track “Lovescope,” is fantastic. It reaches a point where it’s near impossible not to be captivated by the melody. Particularly the catchy pop-aura from funky guitar bits and danceable bass arrangements make you groove till you’re too tired to continue, and then some!
Once we reach the album’s exit, “Bad Choices” gives us a thrilling sendoff. A bluesy guitar intertwines with a poetic singer and a thunderous beat, altogether a melodic bond forms. Thus, SIR-VERE’s music is highly recommended!
