The Seattle pop band, Parachutes and Promises is back with a new indie-pop track, “Magnetic,” after their debut single, “Remember Who We Are,” reached the stars with over 10K streams on Spotify and 30K video views on YouTube.
The opening piano melody in “Magnetic” enchants and draws listeners in with its emotive and flowing tune. It sets the stage for the rest of the composition. Rhythmic drumming and glimmering guitar work follow suit, adding more ground to the sonorous sound.
Vocalist Caitlin Sarwono, a talent recently recognized for her performance in the lead role of Ariel in a regional production of The Little Mermaid, brings her rich, velvety voice to the track. She sings of falling in love against one’s better judgment with a heartfelt and soul-stirring tone. Sarwono’s vocals rise and fall, building to an explosive climax with the instrumentals pulsing and gaining momentum. Her delivery tops the relatable theme with her magnetic and expressive delivery pulsing with defiance and complexity. We find ourselves mesmerized by the way she expresses the nuances of attraction.
Parachutes and Promises takes inspiration from the vulnerability of Bridgers, and the charisma of the musical sensation Taylor Swift, while rawly representing relatibility at par with Olivia Rodrigo to produce “Magnetic.” And so it syncs the heart and the classical with the modern.
Already noticed by Pacific Northwest radio stations, we foresee all the attention “Magnetic” will attract. Stay tuned with the rising band, Parachutes and Promises for more infectious tracks!
