Hollow Logick, the solo artist out of Crossville, Tennessee, has carved out something raw and uncompromising with his July 7, 2025 release, โMental Illness.โ Written, produced, and engineered entirely by the artist himself, the track reflects the late-night chaos of a mind under siege, recorded with nothing more than a modded Acer laptop, FL Studio, and the will to make noise out of silence. As a survival in long form, itโs born from the underground network that gave him a space to bleed openly, most notably the 3NIGMA BRED MUSIC collective.
โMental Illnessโ begins deceptively calm, almost fragile, with airy buzz that sounds more like the crackle of fire than static. Then Hollow Logickโs voice enters, first breathy, heavy, and haunted, before the dam bursts. The rap comes fast and relentless, words tumbling like racing thoughts at three in the morning, raw with anger and exhaustion but delivered in a flow thatโs smooth, steady, and unbroken. Thereโs no filter, no metaphorical veil, as the lyrics speak directly of voices in the walls, pills on the dresser, blood on the glass. The production mirrors the collapse, tightening the walls around the listener until it feels claustrophobic, like youโre trapped inside his breakdown with no exit strategy.
