Metal Ghost by Jane N’ The Jungle: Review
I was initially drawn to Jane N’ The Jungle because of a particularly catchy track titled ‘Metal Ghost’, partially inspired by the untimely death of Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. This song serves as their tribute to rock music. The theme is about getting lost and about being carefree while its message is to surrender to your inspiration and fall in love with the unknown.
The intricate alt-rock design of ‘Metal Ghost’ is fascinating due to its somewhat jarring introduction. The guitars have a contagious vibe to them, sending shivers down your spine. The hauntingly beautiful dance makes you feel as though you’ve been possessed by a spirit begging to be set free, while Brian Bellis’s soaring guitars and Big D’s resonant bass-pounding drums combine for a breathtaking piece of rock. Add to that Jordan’s mighty vocals, and this song has all the right elements! The band does a great job of embodying the darker and more gritty side of rock, while the vocals convey the sorrow and emotional strength of the lyrics.
When I first clicked “Play”, I didn’t know what to expect but now that I’ve listened to more of their music, I see the consistency. Jane N’ The Jungle amaze their fans with exponential progress as a band that inspires trust and optimism in the listener with each proceeding track. It appeals to the hard rocker in all of us with its chugging guitars and soaring vocals. Various instrumentals give it a full anthemic rock intensity that can’t help but pull you into the performance.
