Midheaven by ethericashadowsound: EP Review
The Astral-Pop priestess from Brooklyn, ethericashadowsound, has performed at numerous locations in New York City and has been broadcast on college radio in Seattle. The EP โMidheavenโ was produced and recorded at her home studio in Brooklyn, New York, and mastered at Old Colony Mastering by Scott Craggs.
The artist developed the concept for the composition while driving across the nation with her husband and dog in early 2022. The EP is all about the constantly changing metamorphosis, the dark night of the soul, and re-entry after the rigorous pandemic lockdown, and the moment you start listening to it, you will find yourself lost in the soothing, zen-like aura of the intricately designed music. โMidheavenโ is extremely expressive on inventive guitar lines that are immediately joined by background vocals, while the rhythms and atmosphere gradually creep in, providing a fantastic build-up into what ends up being a really laid-back, groovy experience.
The first song came to her while they were at Greg Dulliโs R Bar in New Orleans, and at that moment, she felt the muse and her momentum for the first time in a long time. She started working on โMidheavenโ in March and finished it in October of 2022. Throughout the entire production process, there were times of intense frustration, but she persevered and released such an amazing work of art. The entire composition has been so masterfully orchestrated and presented that your ears are going on cloud nine.
