Erotika Dabra returns on 17 November 2025 with “My Own Magic (Rerub),” a bold and sensual reinvention of their defining track. This piece was originally crafted with Lioness and shaped around three “masks,” namely the cello, the sultry vocal, and the psychedelic trip. Now part of a new Rerub series, this release signals a fresh creative chapter, one where past work is ritualistically revisited and reborn. Known for their boundary-pushing fusion of electronic production and pole-driven physical performance, Erotika Dabra (they/them) uses sound and movement as two sides of the same spell. Here, they pull listeners into what they describe as an exploration of “sex magicks in the grasping, unfurling palms of my hands,” weaving vintage electro-swing textures with modern electronic sheen. It ends up with the track blurring the line between the sensual and the surreal, with a choreographed visual companion on the way.
Anyway, once “My Own Magic (Rerub)” begins, the atmosphere tightens immediately. The song opens with strings that writhe and vibrate in a shaky, buzzing tension. It’s alive, unstable, almost serpentine. They create a sense of anticipation, like something charged is about to break its silence. Then the voice enters. It’s a woman’s vocal presence appearing and disappearing in atmospheric echoes. She laughs softly, sexually exasperated and mystical, before her rich, luscious tone blooms into sensual croons. The melody itself winds around you in its ribboning, dappling naturalness.
Before long, the beats arrive, thumping, rumbling, and grounding the ethereal swirl with a ritualistic, primal, and physical pulse. The production swings between vintage flair and modern electricity, giving the track its hypnotic electro-swing heartbeat. As the layers stack, the song becomes a lithe, intoxicating dance of desire and self-possession, a rebirth that honors its past while surrendering fully to its newly conjured magic.
