Night Terrors by The Fades: Album Review
The Fades brings a terrifying 10-piece album “Night Terrors”, drawing inspiration from personal ghoulish experiences in the middle of the night with unexpected optimistic turns in a rock-laden fantasy, and I’m here to guide you through the album!
The album opens with a brief instrumental track called “Time Is Right” which features a scream-along chorus, setting the tone for “Night Terrors”. Following that, an indie pop number “You Follow Me Around” plays to hint at a wave of positivity. But fret not The Fades kicks it heavily with a horror-driven and intense chords “The Pessimist”. “Drives Me On” brings the tone back up with a story about friends in a catchy riff and modern funk, before the album’s first half concludes with the hard-hitting track “Lost My Job” about bitter reality. Beginning the second half with a swagger worthy of a punk band, People, In General, is full of pent-up anger and energy. Night Terrors, the album’s title tune, is low-slung, gritty blues rock with an upbeat lyrical theme and a psychedelic finale. The next few tracks change the atmosphere, and the album finally ends with “Wake Up Generation.” It boasts a chill bass groove and concludes with a positive and light-hearted note about youth.
Here’s the message I decoded from “Night Terrors”: Reflect, dwell on your regrets for a minute and then move on with hope in your heart to enjoy your life to the fullest!
