Not About Angels by Karen Harding: Review
Originally by Birdy, Karen Harding brings heaven on earth with her cover of the song Not About Angels.
Following up on the success of her first cover song Brave, Karen released her heartfelt rendition of the song Not About Angels. On her cover of the song that she recorded, mixed, and produced herself, she concentrates on the delicateย piano melodies, gentle string accents, and natural, expressive, yet haunting ethereal vocals.
Speaking about the song Karen said, โNot About Angels has always meant a lot to me. Lyrically, the song is ambiguous, however to me it represents the space, or limbo between holding onto something, or someone, you love from your past and taking the step towards something for your future. Sometimes, we long to hang on to those things that we love, but those things can often hold us back from moving forward to amazing things that the future holds for us.โ
Her wide vocal range and distinct playing style add her personal flair to the song. Her personal attachment to the song makes itself present in every note of every measure throughout the song. A cover well done indeed.
Starting her musical life at the very early age of 6, Karen Hardingโs whole life revolved around music. She has played countless shows solo, with bands and other artists. Gathering her experience over the years, besides her solo project, she started The Kaz Experiment to explore her creativity and express herself through her music. She has won multiple talent shows and awards for her musical works and gained attention from community radio stations all over Australia.
