Numb by Jackson Watson: Review

On todayโs under-the-radar artist album finds, hereโs a gem you have to go listen to right now! Jackson Watson brings the indie formula to his second EP titled โNumbโ containing 12 distinctive hits. Listening to this one will compel you to listen to more pop, and modern jazz fused with R&B and the like of it.
Jackson Watson has the aesthetics, additive synth, and pop elements that you can hear across Harry Stylesโs music, and heโs got an upbeat vibe throughout most of his songs. Out of all the tracks, I personally love his vocals in โFeels Like Yesterdayโ, where his range really shines through, a tinge of husky echoing to fill the spaces in your room. The way he layers his music and harmonizes, he almost sounds like Conan Gray, one of my favorite boy artists of all time. Watson has more of that 80s energy, somewhat chaotic with his synths and some disco-fied edits. Heโs also influenced by modern pop in his songs โSweet talkโ and gives out hopelessly romantic vibes in โRunning in the Darkโ, โDragonfruitโ, โThings we can doโ with the emotional rollercoaster song โAll Your Loveโ. Finally, we get โChameleonโ, bringing back the funk with an impressive air of vocal range.
In Jackson Watsonโs โNumbโ, what youโll witness is cathartic emotions flying across the styles of Prince, Queen, and many noteworthy inspirations. The songs are dripping with modern fusion productions, that combine a multitude of genres to give you a little bit of everything.
