On ‘All Comes Crashing,’ Metric return with a bounce and a shove.
Any day when Metric releases a new song is a fantastic day for everyone. And it turns out that the perennial Toronto band is back today (April 28), with a new jam called “All Comes Crashing” to give them a boost. This powerful new song is the first single from Metric’s upcoming eighth studio album, Formentera, which will be released on July 8.
Emily Haines adds, “Not everyone has a traditional existence with conventional relationships.” “‘All Comes Crashing’ is a love song that goes beyond romantic love; it’s a statement of solidarity with anybody you’d want by your side in the case of a disaster.” It could be your best friend, your blood brother, or even your dog. The song is devoted to those you consider family, in whatever form it may take.”
“All Comes Crashing,” which was released today with a music video directed by Justin Broadbent and produced by Haines, should sound incredible live. Metric will embark on the 39-date “The Doomscroller Tour” across Canada and the United States this summer, with a stop at the House of Blues in Boston on October 25. All of the concerts’ tickets go on sale on May 6; find out more here.
