Out Here On Our Own by I’ve Tried Sleeping: Review
A magnificent blend of indie rock, with some elements of funk, I’ve Tried Sleeping’s song “Out Here On Our Own” manages to create a unique and interesting soundscape. The everlasting guitar arrangement, with the singer’s passionate singing, makes the track a treat to hear and experience.
I truly admire unique guitar tones, especially those tied with ‘overdrive’ and ‘distortion’. Thus the specialty of I’ve Tried Sleeping’s guitar sequences has this interesting tone, and when put into perspective of a genre, it can be categorized as punk-meets-funk. The beautiful cadence of the instrumental takes along with the lively vocals make “Out Here On Our Own” a track to hear when you feel like you got the blues and a dark cloud looming over you. It is a soundtrack for those seeking a wake-up call, and to hear a fresh track with a creative spin.
Whenever a song enters a bridge section, I wish to hear that it was done correctly. This is because the listener needs to be taken away from the main aspect of the song, to a separate piece, and once we return, it must feel familiar and comfortable. Therefore, the bridge section of this track did exactly just that, and I enjoyed it to the fullest extent. The band has a perfect sense of rhythm, and with its rock music aesthetic, I believe it can enchant listeners with its powerful blend of lyrics and instrumentation. All in all, the artists did stellar work on their compositions, and if you’ve got a heart for rock and funk you’ll surely enjoy this number.
