Out of the Woods by Craig Gould: Review
“Out of the Woods” is a beautiful indie-folk song by Craig Gould, an artist making waves in the music biz. The track has a charming acoustic passage where a passionate singer guides the way. Aside from that, there’s a folksy violin present that contributes to the allure of this fresh single.
Craig Gould’s performance in “Out of the Woods” is simply stunning. The song has a heartwarming effect due to its subtle poetry and hopeful instrumentation. Craig leads with vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and percussion while other ecstatic band members join in on the fun. Such as Jools Street playing heavenly notes on the violin, Lee Cogswell unleashing groovy basslines, Jenny Colquitt also joining in on serene vocals, and Dan Sealey accompanying soulful acoustic guitar chords. The song “Out of the Woods” brings out a distinct wintery/fall aesthetic with it, primarily because of its rhythm section. At times the mandolin makes an entrance to form a cozy melody, and at other points, Craig and Jenny’s vocal duo comforts our spirit. Altogether it has a gentle cadence that befits a chilly atmosphere.
Craig is elated to be cooperating with “CALM” (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a charity that will receive all proceeds from the launch of “Out of the Woods”. He has already raised over £650 for mental health care in the UK through his music. That’s pretty wholesome and with such an inviting melody in “Out of the Woods”, I’m positive about its success!
