Punk rock band Jersey Calling has released their newest album, “Parasocial Security.”
The opening track, “Gods & Cowboys,” smashes driving guitars and pounding drums. Sharp, accentuated and raspy vocals guide us through a landscape where societal crises are vividly portrayed. The consistent range and grounding vocals provide a strong foundation for the intense musical journey.
“Mid-life Crisis,” the sixth track, has catchy tunes seamlessly rhyming with the guitar riffs. The rhythmic drumming adds to the song’s infectious rhythm. Overall, it captures the mid-life crisis with both humor and introspection. Closing the album with a bang is the tenth track, “Hasta Luego.” Rumbling, raspy vocals, hard-hitting drums, and engaging guitar riffs create an anthemic experience. The song’s rebellious spirit and anthemic energy make it a fitting conclusion to the album.
Throughout “Parasocial Security,” Jersey Calling’s lyrics renounce the labor matrix with a rebellious farewell in “Hasta Luego.” The punk rock ethos shines through, encapsulating the band’s influences from giants like Our Lady Peace, 21 Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Ani Defranco, and Paula Abdul.
The band has recently opened for Blink-182, Paramore, and Midtown at the Adjacent Festival in Atlantic City. Upon the release of their album this Oct 27, Jersey Calling is making real waves on the Upper East Coast. Stay tuned and find out when they are coming near you!
