Honeyvolt has debuted with a rock smasher, “Red Moon Rising” this July 26. Despite their very first release, the song is catching fire on Spotify.
“Red Moon Rising” starts with catchy guitar riffs playing a refraining groove. Meanwhile, sparkling cymbals sizzle along with a thumping steady drum beat, that keeps up the rhythm and momentum. Joining the instrumental drive is the unforgettably enthusiastic voice of songwriter Alan James Ponce. Helmed by him only, other than collaborators, the song absolutely bangs and reeks of originality and distinctive taste.
Ponce has a high and raspy voice, which soars vibrantly, full of energy. His voice soars over the contagious rhythm, totally inflicting us with an uplifting spirit. The lyrics, on the other hand, also have a poetic beauty amidst their virulence as well. The powerful gravity of the lines, “At your gate, I was sure/With the smoke rolling over your door/It’s too late, let it burn/A confession for a lesson unlearned,” will make you stop and think while head-banging to the beat.
There’s the standout guitar solo in the bridge bending and writhing over the bustling, hard-hitting drums. It blends into the outro–and the outro is noteworthy because the instrumentals only dynamize more and more from this point, the sensations of which can’t be described with words alone. The brooding, the rich vocalizations exotically wailing behind the blazing trails of the instrumentals and the rest will leave you reeling in ecstasy.
It turns out that Honeyvolt is about to release a couple more singles before dropping the big thing. His debut album, complete with 10 tracks, is on the way. So stay tuned.
