Riot by IRYS: Review
“Isn’t it a riot?
I need a time-out
To live the moment”
You know it’s gonna be a lit track when there’s writing as such. ‘Riot’ by up-and-coming artist IRYS is a song that will grip you, and keep you hooked with her enchanting rhythm.
IRYS is a singer, songwriter, and producer located in Berlin, Germany. She began her project in 2021 and has since been regarded as one of the most promising newcomers in the genre of gloomy pop throughout the world. Riot is a groove that you just can’t skip. The dark-pop music is tense and quite stunning. Also, the lyrics are profound and explain feelings on words with amazing grit and creativity. IRYS’ vocals are given ample room to shine over a bassline reminiscent of the 1980s, which builds to a memorable chorus. The artist explains her interpretation of Riot as a condition of emotional upheaval that can only be comprehended in retrospect. She attempts to remember and make sense of a traumatic experience. So that it can be placed in context, to help IRYS move forward, relatable for anyone indeed. That’s true courage IRYS, way to go! We’re all rooting for you, and you’ve got a loyal fanbase indeed. It is indisputable that your songs have a fruitful future ahead of them. Riot is a song that’ll make you dance, that’ll make you think, but ultimately it will give you the chills. As the song follows a similar rhythm and beat structure to the 80s, I found it very intriguing.
