River of Gold by Vintz Desert: Review
Following the success of his previous hit โLove in Bostonโ, the Maryland indie folk singer-songwriter Vintz Desert has released his latest EP, The Blue Journal. In our todayโs feature, weโll be talking about the soulful ending track of the 5-track EP, River of Gold.
The track opens with a beautifully plucked acoustic guitar with airy strings playing in the background that is soon accompanied by the emotive raspy vocals of Vintz Desert. His vocals have that right amount of grit mixed with the airiness when he sings with his lower registers and the way he builds up and switches to the higher registers is just flawless. The way he incorporates different vocal techniques like falsetto and vibrato in the song really highlights his craftsmanship in singing.
Quotable lyrics:
โSee how your mind moves now
Fortune bound, care of lack of sound
Crystallized in newfound thoughtโ
From the acoustic guitar, the airy strings, and the occasional piano to Vintz singing, everything in the song has an organic vibe to it. You can really hear the emotions in his voice when he sings the deep poetic lyrics of the song. When he harmonizes with his vocals it creates an ethereal atmosphere with a river of emotions flowing through you. This great EP couldnโt ask for a more perfect ending.
