UK electronic duo Red Mercury drops a very danceable single combining the best of the latest technology with their latest music video for “Romeo Echo Delta.” Find the 80s coming with the best of its sci-fi into the present where Eurovision is quite the talk of the town.
“Romeo Echo Delta” opens with eerie alien squelches that send shivers down your spine. Then, the tension builds as the intimidating and anticipatory warm, electronic stabs of air come nearer and sharper with each stab. Suddenly, the beat drops with its chest-pounding thump.
Red Mercury knows how to keep a party going as the beats drive their momentum harder. Glitchy basslines bring texture and friction, while electronic flourishes like whooshes and sparks portray an intergalactic dance pulsating with the synths. The dynamic synths interweave with the beats and create an irresistible groove that will have you moving your body whether you’re Earth-bound or aboard a spaceship.
The accompanying music video is a sci-fi extravaganza, courtesy of audio and video producer Steve Gregory with his Unreal Engine 5, motion tracking, 3D animation and AI tools. Like a scene on Aliens, the extraterrestrial beings invade Earth. But this time, instead of a fight, we witness a dance-off—and guess who wins? The aliens, of course, with their superior moves and killer soundtrack.
Red Mercury has done their best with the unique fusion of “Romeo Echo Delta” If you want to see some aliens dance, check out the music video.
