“Scroll My Life Away” by The Radio Addicts might just be the anthem for a generation growing up with the world in one hand and their phone in the other. At just 14, 14, 12, and 11 years old respectively, Luke, Daniel, Vincent, and Jonathan have delivered a disarmingly raw, sonically punchy debut single, brimming with apathetic angst only digital burnout can birth. Released on June 13, 2025, this track already feels like a cult classic in the making, and it hasn’t even been out for a full week.
“Scroll My Life Away” kicks off with gritty, fuzzy guitar riffs that instantly drop you into a garage-rock haze, before thundering drums and sparkling cymbals launch in with restless urgency. Then comes Luke’s distinctively high, grainy vocal—part sneer, part sigh—as he trails lines with a defeated kind of flair. He sings, “Life is boring but I don’t wanna change it / The world is going to hell and I’m watching it burn,” the band captures the evergrowing existential numbness within the youth, surprisingly precisely.
But don’t let the doomscrolling despair fool you—“Scroll My Life Away” is absurdly catchy. The chorus loops in your head long after the final “u oh oh oh” fades. It’s punk without the polish, indie without the pretense, and oddly euphoric for a song about digital malaise. You can hear the influence of The Buzzcocks and early Oasis, but what makes it stand out is how current—and how young—it sounds. It’s bold, messy, a little sarcastic, and completely alive.
“Scroll My Life Away” gets behind how distressing life has been for the youth overwhelmed by choice, tired of the screen, and still unsure what to do about it.Stay tuned to The Radio Addicts if you like what you hear.
