Emerging from Tampa’s rising indie scene, Starrkidd makes a heartfelt debut with his original single “Seasonz,” released on October 4, 2025. Known for his introspective storytelling and unfiltered emotion, Starrkidd works completely solo while recording, writing, and producing within the four walls of his room. Inspired by artists like Jaydes, Bunii, and D4vd, he channels a similar lo-fi sincerity, blending melancholy and warmth in a nostalgic and strikingly honest way. The track captures his longing for a love he’s never truly experienced, particularly during the fall months, and turns that yearning into a really relatable landscape of solitude and emotional vulnerability.
The song opens with thick beats smacking through a dreamy, hazy soundscape that feels like fog rolling through an empty street at dusk. There’s a subtle lo-fi grit in the production, giving it that late-night, self-recorded authenticity. Starrkidd’s vocals enter, melancholic and almost detached, as if he’s processing heartbreak in real time. His voice, slightly muffled, grainy and open-throated, brings a numbed sensation that makes every word feel lived-in. When he murmurs, “Now it’s all gone / It’s my fault,” it hits painfully, like a matter-of-fact.
As the track unfolds, the percussion keeps pulsing while faint harmonies rise up behind him, suspended like a ghost. He sings, “I never wanna see you leave / But I can’t stop you from doing me wrong.” He resignedly accepts how sensitive love is, that it ends up abusing the very thing you desire. The bridge lifts the track with soft harmonies swelling behind his voice before everything gradually dissolves, leaving a ghostly silence.
“Seasonz” feels like the soundtrack to a lonely, vulnerable, and fleeting autumn. Starrkidd lets us sit with it, one verse at a time.
