Side of Me by Casey Wells: Review
Casey Wells crafts an effortlessly charming indie track with โSide of Meโ in just one and a half minutes. As short as it is, it is also quite a delightful experience.
The song immediately captivates with its mesmerizing rock enchantment and wastes no time doing so. The trackโs overarching theme is the difficulty of facing negative feelings like dread, uncertainty, and sorrow while yet making the most of oneโs limited time on Earth. It may have some sad parts, yet it is ultimately an uplifting and encouraging piece of music. Wordless harmonies and emotive guitar strums combine to create a psychedelically influenced energy. After that, the musician from Charlestonโs vocals comes in, oozing a groovy, atmospheric rock. Wells dumps you out the other end of his musically magical tube after only 1.5 minutes. The delicious guitar bursts and the longing, spacey vocals provide a dramatic contrast that keeps the song engaging throughout. These all play together to a gorgeous chord pattern, making it quite fascinating. Thereโs a dreamlike atmosphere in a whirlpool that puts you in a more laid-back, easygoing mood.ย
Singer-songwriter Casey Wells was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, and he has written, recorded, and produced all of his own songs. His collection of songs spans a wide variety of styles, from progressive rock to electronica to alternative dance and even folk.
