Hungarian electro-pop outfit The Biebers’ self-titled album has this stand-out danceable track, “Sorry” that might just break your heart.
The song breaks open with catchy guitar riffs tuning steadily and building up until the thumping drums come down, pelleting hard with their irresistible groove. Péter Puskás, The Biebers’ charismatic frontman, delivers the vocals with infectious enthusiasm. His husky, high voice perfectly captures the intoxicating allure of the song’s subject, a captivating dancer with a wild streak.
The band shows us how the forbidden carnal pleasures really get started before they get busted with earnest exhilaration and temptation. Puskás sings of a dancer who “wants to break my heart” with her electrifying moves. He acknowledges the commitments they both have, but the magnetic pull is undeniable. The chorus explodes with the desperation of wanting something you can’t have: “She’s a dancer girl/She’s a maniac/And what she wants is to break my heart.”
The Biebers, with their experience of the thrill of the club and dance life, know how suggestive the whole ordeal is and they ain’t holding back with their lyrics. Because you will find yourself relating too. “Sorry” is a celebration of reckless abandon, a heady mix of lust, desire, and a touch of self-destruction. The Biebers encourage us to embrace the chaos, to “dance ’til the end collapses on us.” Pulsating synths create an electrifying atmosphere, mirroring the intensity of the lyrics.
So listen to The Biebers feel a little “Sorry” for making you lose all inhibitions, on Spotify.
