Stay Dead by Sketchface ft. Celeste Madden: Review
Not another song where the bitter one refers to their ex as a โghostโ from the past! While you and I may not be on the same page, because I have not experienced heartbreak in a while, there is no reason to skip out on this epitome of an emotional song by the powerful duo. Careful, you are about to tread melancholic melodies that may evoke your memories of the past!
Sketchfaceโs soothing yet heartfelt song โStay Deadโ is a superb representation of the anguish of a broken heart. Youโll get shivers listening to this because of the depth of the lyrics that convey a tale of resentment, the harmony of the instruments, and the overall intensity of the composition. Itโs got that powerful rhythm that surrounds you in a haze of gentle instrumentals and vocals that depict a narrative that even I have experienced firsthand.
The introduction is based on a soft, minimally processed guitar riff where Celesteโs vocal, influenced by Phoebe Bridgers and Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief, adds a distinctive twist. The vocals may be the most noticeable aspect of the song, but the epic orchestration and an atmospheric element in its production are what make it genuinely special. Despite the heartbreak, the singer proceeds to express unending love that has not diminished in the slightest. And with that, you may be left feeling perplexed, but human feelings are nothing short of complications. Both Sketchface and Celeste have left an indelible influence with their stunning creation, and I canโt wait to listen to more of their creations individually.
