Stephen Henderson released catchy new song ‘Instafamous’
Don’t fool yourself, sometimes a stupid catchy song is the ideal medium for a surprising amount of reflection and thought. This seems to be overwhelmingly the case with Stephen Henderson, a singer-songwriter based in Hawaii, and his most recent single, ‘Instafamous’. To post or not to post? is the central question of this reflective island reggae pop song.
The song feels like the anthem of the social generation, one that is in love with attention but dying desperately underneath as the platforms extrinsic reward systems hijack our senses of self-esteem and value in the most creative and amusing ways. The song tackles the wide range of features in the platform while also incorporating doses of self-awareness therapy.
