Shaky keeps the momentum rolling with โTake It Away,โ the second single from his upcoming album Kinda Wild II, arriving March 13, 2026. Following the buzz of the earlier single โIn a Heartbeat,โ this track doubles down on the scrappy indie-rock spirit that helped his debut Kinda Wild earn weeks on the NACC Top 200. Shakyโs songwriting thrives on raw emotion and DIY grit, and here he channels a rough dayโs frustration into a high-energy anthem about resilience. It feels like a late-night studio outburst turned into a cathartic rock statement, with messy feelings, loud guitars, and all.
โTake It Awayโ bursts open with lush, jangling guitars that immediately grab the ears. The riffs are bright but punchy, that bounce along with restless urgency. Then the drums slam in, sharp, fast, and driving the whole track forward like a train thatโs not planning to slow down anytime soon. From the get-go, thereโs that scrappy garage-rock charm, where the edges stay rough but the hooks land clean.
Shakyโs voice slides into the mix with a thickness, carrying passion and frustration. He sings like someone shaking off a bad day and turning it into fuel. He sings, โIโm clocking out of the great escape / Iโm working hard to stay awake,โ capturing that worn-out, working-class grind, so the song builds toward defiance.
Then comes the chorus, and boy, it hits the nail on the head. โYou watched me hit the ground / You kicked me when I am down / I lock it in somehow / You canโt stop me now.โ Itโs blunt, fiery, and ridiculously catchy, and it sticks in your head long after the guitars fade.
The music video adds another cool twist. Shot in dreamy vintage lilac tones, it shows Shaky performing every instrument himself in one continuous-feeling setup, giving the whole thing a stripped-down, one-man-band vibe.
All told, โTake It Awayโ is a punchy, hook-filled reminder that sometimes the best revenge is simply getting back up and playing louder. Check out the music video on YouTube.
