London’s own alt-rock outfit Rusty Halo crash back onto the scene with “The End,” a thunderous single that feels like an adrenaline shot to the heart of modern rock. As teased in their 2025 press release, the track dives headfirst into apocalypse, exploring how moments of boredom can twist into cosmic visions of finality, just like this piece of music.
The song kicks off with grinding, distorted guitars that roar like an engine revving before liftoff, while the drums pound with seismic precision, each hit shaking the ground beneath the melody. When the singer enters, we are caught a little off-guard because of how eccentric it is due to the high, sharp, and fine voice that cuts through with a sharp and almost icy tone. The lead singer’s voice stretches to wild, untamed highs, belting lines that sound half like a cry of defiance and half like a sermon to chaos. When he howls about “the end,” it’s not just the end of the world—it feels like the collapse of complacency, the implosion of everything too still for too long.
Somewhere between Led Zeppelin’s raw swagger and the grunge edge of early Soundgarden, Rusty Halo fuse old-school riffs with a modern urgency. The guitar solos ride waves of distortion that fade into a dark, echoing abyss before the drums drag it all back to life. There’s an almost cinematic tension in the way the music climbs and crashes, like the soundtrack to a world unravelling.
Listen to Rusty Halo’s “The End” if you like what you hear.
