Onemac Project, helmed by songwriter Michael MacMahon and singer/songwriter James O’Connor, releases their whole new 13-track album, “The Hermit Speaks,” this Nov 24.
In the opening track, “The Dancing Violin,” the song has rhythmic drums propelling the song with guitars riffing catchily. The vocals are tender, rich, and deep. These vocals sing with an elevating range that soars with passion.
Stand-out and witty track “A Song For Nobody” introduces relaxing guitars and passionate vocals. Melancholic string arrangements come in, swelling sad tunes as the singer sings about never being loved by anyone indeed. However, it could be a song about unrequited love, as they sing, “If you see your face in my eyes/This song is for you.”
The closing track, “Cutting Room Floor (Parts 1 & 2): Dance With Me,” stands out with its eight-minute-plus duration. It begins on a serious note, with the singer reflecting on past moments held close to the heart.
Stand-out Lyrics: “The times when I held you close to my heart close to my heart/ We swore to each other we never would part/They are not part of the movie of your life no more/ They lie gathering dust on the cutting room floor.”
After the first chorus comes singing the guitar with its gliding slinky tunes. Then, the angelic female vocals of Ukrainian singer Lillie Kysil evaporate, singing in a melancholic, heartrending ascent over his poetic storytelling. The song soon transforms from immersive melodies to unpredictably catchy head-nodding melodies. Thumping drums and infectious guitar tunes with the luscious vocals of Lillie Kysil invite you to dance with her.
If you love sincere and passionate music, “The Hermit Speaks” by Onemac Project is perfect for your listening.
