The Northern Light by The Northern Light: Album Review

The Northern Light creates beautiful rock music, enchanted with instrumental grit, and lyrical grace. From intricate guitar progressions, excellent basslines, and percussive dexterity, their self-titled album is born. Each rhythmic aspect is enriching to hear, even more so when a singer joins the cadence. That being said, let’s see what The Northern Light is all about!
“Waiting For The Flood” initiates the album, and it is straight out of a hard rock 90s record. Everything from the guitar bits to the vocals calls upon that era. As a child of that time, there’s a sense of nostalgia that works its way through me. Thus, you can imagine my excitement, folks! Furthermore, a gentle wind blows by, a leaf carries along with it and lands on a soft ukulele. The instrument’s clean sound emanates from the song “As Stars Burn.” After that sequence, The Northern Light return to their usual rock outfit, and continue on!
A wave of progressive rock hits us on the track “Borrowed Time.” The time signatures are interesting and vary. Also, there’s a killer guitar solo guiding the way! Thus, this aspect brings on the attributes of the aforementioned genre, and it does so pretty graciously! Anyway folks, with everything said, please don’t miss out on the music of “The Northern Light.”
