The Scar of Our War by Chucky Trading Co: Review
“The Scar of Our War” by Chucky Trading Co is a love story set in the afterlife told from the perspective of the deceased.
“The Scar of Our War” starts off with acoustic strumming and picking that is melancholic yet somewhat joyful, along with Congo drums. Then enters the vocalist, whose voice sounds a lot like Johnny Cash and takes the song to full throttle for a few moments, and then brings it back again. The violin-like keyboard tune is pretty impressive too, and the depth of the vocal is just heartwarming. The transition that goes on in the track is interesting and smooth. All of the instruments work well together and keep getting louder as the story progresses and gets closer to its end, especially in the chorus, which sounds like a chant to open the grave of a loved one. It is a very emotional track indeed that visualizes a cloudy day, but then as the song progresses, the clouds start to clear and you can see the sun again.
The composition is brilliant in every way, along with the beautiful lyrics that play a story in your head without you even trying. It is a track that stirs up the listeners’ emotions making them experience grief, sadness, and peace all at once.
