This is Awkward by Callisto: Review
Do you sometimes wish you could release your suffering to the roar of rock music? Then, the song “This is Awkward” by Callisto will provide you with that melodious outlet. It’s a glorious arena rock track reminiscent of early 2000s hits, and all the charm that comes with it. Alongside a tinge of punk, these avid musicians show us how it’s done with breathtaking vocals and beastly rhythm sections.
James DiNanno, a drummer and songwriter, formed the band Callisto, which also comprises musicians Howi Spangler, Brandon Hardesty, and Rob DiNanno. They’ve got a powerful sound and their grit is felt in the piece “This is Awkward.” It’s been a while since I’ve heard a good rock scream, and the track has plenty of it. Aside from that, James’ drumming is fierce and maintains the flow of the tune pretty darn well. To take things up a notch, a face-melting shredder arises nearly two minutes in. It’s a guitar solo inferno that brings to mind the rock’s emotional release as mentioned earlier. And that folks is how you grip an entire audience with your presence.
Callisto’s rocker spirit is the boost I needed to get through the week. Got ten errands to run? No problem. Standing in line among a hundred people? Uhh, bring it on. But, only if I get to attend a concert and headbang to “This is Awkward”! With that being said, please don’t miss out on this fantastic song.
