Trying by Ceyeo: Review
Ceyeo is the voice of a new generation of independent musicians who can do it all: compose, sing, produce, and perform his artwork. In his most recent single, he formed a dream team with the talented vocalist Poetic Justis and the fantastic mixer-producer Max Honsger at Tileyard Studios London. And โTryingโ turns out to be an astonishing blend of pop, hip-hop, and R&B.
As the song progresses, Ceyeo first serves the listeners with an entertaining set of drums, bass lines, and silky smooth vocals. And then, tucked away at the very back of the stack of instruments, buried far in the background, there are the most magnificent string arrangements, consisting of cellos, violas, and violins. Several different vocal techniques and styles had to be tested out during the creation process to ensure that they could stand up to the music. He has a distinct preference for addressing unconventional topics in his songs, such as sexual identity, social injustices, race, and mental health issues. That holds true for this song as well. โTryingโ is a silent cry for anyone who has ever felt rejected, left out, or cast aside just for being themselves. Nevertheless, in the end, they refuse to accept the status quo without putting up a fight. We create our own happy endings.
Quotable lyrics:
โBut that ainโt us, thatโs not the way we play
Itโs you and me together, and thatโs the way itโs gonna stay
Yea, thatโs the way itโs gonna be
For you and meโ
Ceyeo has already started working on his follow-up album, which is expected to be released in the year 2023, despite the fact that he is busy preparing for the launch of his debut album โMachine Learningโ this July. He is clearly on fire, but he is only getting started.
