Unique Mélange by Marcus Smith: Album Review
If you love all things hip-hop with a touch of soul music, then you’re gonna love Marcus Smith’s music. He’s a rapper captivating us with a rhythmic flow and the ultimate sonic wave of hip-hop. Aside from that, the instrumental facets of his music range from old-school rap to neo-soul, thus expect a lot of synth, bass, and heavy beats. That being said, let’s move on to Marcus Smith’s album “Unique Mélange!”
From the energetic bars of “Killer Tofu” to the motivational anthem “Rough Year,” Marcus ensures the audience is absorbing the essence of rap from start to finish. Whether he’s going solo or with friends, the music stays intact, and the aura of hip-hop is as strong as ever. In addition to that, the rhythm is accompanied by a light synth that represents the nature of neo-soul pretty well. It’s a fine genre blend, and this synergy continues to the hit number “She Don’t Care.” Honestly, I’m at a loss for words, how can a song be so darn funky? This time around, Marcus doesn’t only rap, but sings too! And what a voice he has, all smooth and graceful, and syncing with the music like a Grammy winner too!
We get some guitar action, and a sound reminiscent of the 90s blues with the track “Day After Day.” The arrangement feels like Hendrix himself played it. As for the narrative, it’s catchy as heck, and you should definitely give it a spin, folks.
