If you’re looking for a track to help you groove fast and easily in the most nonchalant way, then “Velvet Sanctuary” by IDN is definitely worth a listen. From the very first notes, the song draws you in with its dreamy atmosphere built by the masterful production. The song combines EDM beats, synth waves, and a mellifluous male voice with a falsetto to produce something jammable and balances it with swooning vocals that soothe at the same time.
Iden Mozafari, abbreviated to IDN, produces, performs, mixes, and masters music. Living in LA, his options are wide open, and he has already released one album. Over his entire musical portfolio, he has covered videogame music, the 90s-00s rave music, experimental hip-hop, psychedelia, electronica, and so on. As for his single, “Velvet Sanctuary,” combines electro-pop and electronica with psychedelia that also emits the 90s-00s rave/techno vibes.
IDN being an adventurous talent, he says: “The song takes sonic inspiration from 90’s UK rave at its euphoric peak and early Detroit techno, with legends like Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, even Aril Brikha. I wanted to combine these intricate compositions and blend them with a pop sensibility, something I could replay and sing to over and over.”
It also turns out that IDN meant “Velvet Sanctuary” as an abstract self-love track where you can be your own sanctuary and be everything you need to be, to take yourself further ahead. So listen to the electronica-infused ethereal single “Velvet Sanctuary” by IDN.
