between a group of close relatives and friends. The albumโs inspiration, according to the bandโs leader Joey Watkins, was to be able to give our listeners something to take home and feel Godโs presence anytime.
The single โHe isโ by Watkins and Bloodline blends the appeal of southern baptist music with the contemporary rock sounds. The albumโs first track, โHe is,โ introduces the bandโs singular approach to fusing various musical genres to produce a distinctive sound all on its own. The combination of groovy guitar riffs, a Hammond b3 organ, and choir-like vocals results in an uplifted song that emphasizes who God is.
The projectโs centerpiece, โIn My Soul,โ is featured on the โPursuitโ album. Band member Halle Moseley claims, โIn my soul was originally supposed to be thrown out.โ โI didnโt join the band until the middle of the album, in actuality. They changed the song after I joined and decided to include me in it. In keeping with the theme of blending genres, โIn my Soulโ combines alternative rock with ethereal vocals to produce a stirring effect.
โThis song is meant to inspire a desire to seek God. In fact, that is where the albumโs name originated.
Mosley claims.
