Wave by Gem FM: Review
James Freeman is the only musician involved in the Gem FM project, and he is the one who writes, arranges, and performs all of the music. Additionally, he engineered and produced each tune individually! His album, “Wave,” draws inspiration from rock, Latin, blues, progressive, electronic dance music, and synth-pop.
Upcoming will be a brief analysis of each song in ‘Wave’, honestly the entire album was incredible. An instrumental masterpiece, and just a trip from start to finish!
Turn It Loose – A psychedelic rock track with some peaceful synths and guitar chords along with moody drums.
Red Eye – A bluesy rock song, with some funky guitar arrangements.
Ha Cha Cha – The very definition of Island Dance Music, such a joy to listen to. I wanna dance now.
Jambo – Some of the most animal-like music I’ve heard. Really raw, and in your face, The drums and synths are a bit like war music. And that bass adds a heavy feeling too.
Reptile – A synth-driven voyage with some vocals. It’s almost reminiscent of a video game level where lava’s all around. Be careful it’s on the floor too!
Hard Line – A true love letter to the 80s. Bring out your denim jacket, and high-waist blue jeans. This synth-pop extravaganza will knock your sneakers off, bruh.
Roachella – Has some Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side of The Moon’ influence, especially that organ, whoa. The best part of this track, really hypnotizing.
Ground Out – A techno beat straight from paradise.
Get Along – A vibing electronic track, with some saxophone-like lead elements.
