What’s The Point by Burning Juniper: Review
Heartbreak, whether you’ve faced or witnessed it, the relatability that comes in the form of a song resonates the most. “What’s The Point” by Burning Juniper is a sonic broadcast that soothes the heartache of gloomy souls. With guitars in hand, sticks in hand, and voices in check, the band gives a truly commendable performance on their original track.
The singer has that voice that makes you feel things. Every transition from the alternative rock-style guitar riffs was critical to the success of the song. The guitars accompanied awesome bar chords, melodies, and just a fierce amount of tension. As the track comes to a close, it feels like they are saying goodbye to each listener. It feels like a proper sendoff, where the instrumental and vocal sequences showed a wonderful combination of flow.
Ellis Smith (lead singer/guitarist), Lewis Maddison (lead guitar), James Roberts (drums), and Callum Gough (bass) make up the Eltham, South East London, indie rock band Burning Juniper. All the band members met while at college, and they all were majoring in music. Everything about the band’s music has a lot of heart in it. Their raw talent is quite evident, as well as their ear for musical structure. I found this track quite interesting because their chorus is the very essence of indie rock, and it all came down to the melodic vibration of a scream. In its entirety “What’s The Point” by Burning Juniper gives a perspective on human expression through melody, and I very much enjoyed hearing it.
