33 by Dorian: Album Review

Dorian, a singer-songwriter originally from New Jersey, has just released his latest album, titled “33.” It is impossible to deny the talent he possesses for coming up with catchy melodies and telling stories that people can relate to. Dorian has continued to expand his sound by creating a sound that combines electronics, pop, rap, and R&B music. Dorian thinks that he can help people who are going through the same things as him by telling his stories.

“Do Ya” is the first track of the album, which starts with a techno-programmed beat and then goes into many different hypnotizing sounds. The soft voice and the art of putting good harmonies in a few layers were hypnotizing. It also has a theatrical feel, similar to the Star Wars score. It is a full-on dance floor track.

“Blast Off” starts with an anime vibe with heavy beats and catchy choruses and verses. Followed by the strong harmonies and runs, the track was very enjoyable. From the first boom of the song, listeners will immediately begin grooving to it.

“Notice Me” starts off with a beautiful acoustic guitar with programmed drum beats. After a while, he repeats “Notice Me,” which symbolizes how the thoughts in your head are all cluttered when you are desperate for that person’s attention.

“Reign Love” (a cappella) has layered harmonies all throughout the song. He shows off his vocal chops with technical runs. This song actually makes sense being an acapella version, as it doesn’t need too many supporting elements as accessories, as his voice is fascinating enough on its own to be able to provide a solid backbone. This is the final song of the album, and it has a very fitting feel as it’s stripped bare of everything and works as the perfect closing track, as it highlights his voice solely on its own and shows off his lyrical ideologies.

As far as the album goes, it was a very interesting album with so many elements in it that took me to another dimension. It was full of joy with a gloomy vibe, and then came the beautifully composed acapella tracks.
